Ceramic coating installer and detailer. Owner of Glossworks, Nelson.
The only Gtechniq and C6 Ceramic Coatings accredited installer in the Nelson area.
The paint on my previous car failed. Not through neglect, and not in a way I could do anything about by the time I noticed it. So before buying the next one I went looking for what actually protects paint over years rather than weeks, which is how I ended up training with a US trainer and taking Gtechniq accreditation.
Before detailing, my background was flood and fire restoration. That is controlled-environment work, and it is the reason Glossworks can be genuinely mobile. Coating a car properly depends far more on managing the environment around it than on where the building is, and that is a problem I had already spent fifteen years solving.
So the coating goes on and cures in your own garage, and you carry on with your day.
Accreditation is what makes the manufacturer warranty real. Without it the warranty is void whatever you are told at the time. More onwhat that covers.
This is the part that carries over. Knowing what a surface will and will not come back from is the same judgement either way.

One person, on every job. I bring help for bigger projects, but I am there for all of it, which is the only way I know to keep the standard the same from one car to the next.
Every coating includes a free follow-up clean with a walkthrough of how to wash the car without putting the marks back in, and I check back in with coating customers a year or so later to see how it is holding up. Nobody asks for that second part. It is how I find out whether what I told someone at the start turned out to be true.
Roughly half the people I inspect decide not to go ahead on that vehicle. It is almost never the price. It is that once they can see what the paint will realistically come back to, the result is not the one they had pictured. I would rather have that conversation before someone spends anything than after.
